In the Los Rios province, this agroforestry is one of the few plantations to cultivate and preserve the Nacional beans of Ecuador with their pronounced character. Representing less than 1% of the world's cocoa production, this very special, dark purple variety, found only in Ecuador, is threatened by the invasion of hyper-productive cocoa trees.
