The Primitive Criollo cocoa grows in this preserved terroir in the small village of Chuao. It is one of the rarest and most expensive cocoa beans in the world, and the first to obtain Protected Designation of Origin status.
Their production is limited and exclusive as they come from an isolated plantation, accessible only by sea. The specific, unique nature of "Chuao" comes from its history, traditions, and organoleptic qualities. Fruity and floral, slightly tangy, with mild and sweet notes, pure and light on the palate.
